Perth: As a tourist (2)

So Spain won. =(

Yes I support Netherland.

First, orange is a bright and hopeful color.
Second, orange is nearest to red on the palette - My England has long gone so I have to support something which is near to it.
Third, I hope that Paul made a wrong prediction.

*shallow*

I guess everyone is well rested??

Yes me too!!

I got to catch a good tight 6-hour sleep =D

Okay since everyone is well rested, now you may start browsing through my blog.

Let's continue on with day 3~

We went to the Margaret River, 3 hours drive from the city.
3 hours, it seems too short for me - in the slumberland, time always fly.

Hello, this is us in the Margaret River information centre.K basically there is nothing special about this picture,
but since my brother was so eager in taking pictures and he went like 'jie look at this place it shall be nice for picturessss!!'
my sis and I might as well grant him the wish la.

Margaret River Hotel!!
(as if you guys can't see)
Dad was like we are at Margaret River so we have to take pictures with the hotel!Erm I don't quite get it - yes we were at Margaret River but why must we take pictures with its hotel?
Not that we stay there though.
Aisay since my dad was so eager in taking pictures like my brother so my sis and my bro and I might as well grant him the wish la.

First stop - the chocolate factory!!
Speaking of color coordination, check out my dad's shirt and shoes with the background!
*Oranje =(*
Oh and my boot and hair color with the signboard!

The factory through the glass.

Leng girl placed both of her palm against the glass window, looked at the spinning wheel, with much hope in her eyes, went on to say,
Jie I wish I could put my mouth under the pipe!!
(by that she meant the one beside the spinning wheel)

While she was still looking at the machine, I slowly turned my head and looked at her, with this image running in my head:
All of the sudden, it became very bright.
Leng girl went into the room.
She hopped towards the machine with a wide smile on her face, in slow motion.
She put her head under the pipe where the chocolate flows from.
Chocolate sauce filled her mouth and overflowed and gone all over her face.
Then she started struggling.

Yuck.
Stop.
Enough.

Guilty guilty.
Chocolate is such a heavenly creations how can I have such disgusting image about it?
Charlie's fault. Hmph.

The girl posing with chocolate bars after she has done cleaning off the chocolate sauce spilled all over the face.
And this guy wanted a picture of himself studying the chocolate bar with full concentration. We had our lunch at the factory.
=D They joined my force - having sweet stuff as proper meal.
We had gelato flavoured in rum n' raisin and mango plus this cheesecake and a cup of latte for lunch. And then they went =p (this is not a naughty =p expression) and crazed for salty stuff.
Pearl chicken spotted!
Picture as reference because my dad wanted these as our pet for our new house.
Just kidding.

=.=

Alright, next stop.

Hmm... According to the orders of my pictures, we went to this place.
Lots and lots of olive oil and jam tasting.

Yes you are allowed to taste all of them but you will not be able to do it.
After you taste the third flavour of the jam, you will started to be like this =S
Think raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, apricot, lemon and you will get what I mean.

Right. Next!!!
Okay this is like if you change our faces with that Iphone application it wouldn't be any awkward at all because we look freaking alike here!!

Weird when I look at Leng girl I don't feel like looking at the mirror but then when I look at our pictures I really think that we look creepily alike. She is a mini me ma.....

When we went into the shop, this shop owner came attend to us.

She just turned a mother a month ago~ sweet~
And the baby was sleeping peacefully under the polka dots blanket...I almost cry looking at that scene.
Yes I may look very ambitious and very strong and very macho yadda yadda but deep down inside I memang look forward to have my own children.
At the age of 23, I am telling myself, if I am not able to find a husband in a decade, I will go for artificial insemination. Well I might change my thought buy that's my plan for now.

Anyway, let's back to Margaret River shall we?

This shop is a place to die for - with a wide variations of nuts and the smell... whoa... it's killing me!!
Initially, I was visiting this cottage-like shop with my dad because the other two beautiful people had dozed off in the car but this place was too good I knew I had to wake Leng girl up!
She would like it!!!

Yoghurt coated raisin + honey wasabi macadamia managed to win our heart in the end.

Next!

Hmm it says dairy co. on the map if I remember it correctly.

This time we didn't have any pictures with the signboard, but with the entrance.
Hahahahahha look at this lame pose again.

We got some yogurt as seen in the picture.

I was near to tears when I saw those rich creamy dairy products...
(chee seen. feel touched for food.)

We didn't buy any cheese though, despite we got to taste them for free. Then it was 4pm and we knew that we had to go back to the city for dinner already.
We didn't get to go to Augusta anyway.
Tidak cukup masa... Apa nak buat haiz.....

So bye Margaret River.

=( a lil' disappointed.
Didn't get to see kangaroo.
My brother said 'it's like rats in Malaysia'.
=( bluff one.
So April, I didn't get to catch you a living one.
=(

Right, I shall end this post with things we got from Margaret River. Not much. Because it's expensive if converted.
Hmm we are thrifty in our fashion =)

Right. Till then.
Shall write more tomorrow~

Perth: As a tourist (1)

This so called tourist's post would be plastered with all those lame and conventional tourists' poses.
Good for you and I if you agree that those poses are lame - they are meant to be so in the first place!

First stop - Swan Riverside
Hmm this one, not quite lame.
Both of my siblings are beautiful people and they are manage to pull these poses off.
Just imagine them in wedding gowns and suits and everything.

The green glass cyclinder at the background is what they call the Bell tower - also known as the Swan Bells - I guess that's because it's by the Swan River side but my dad told me that it is due to the uncanny resemblance between the tower and a swan.

Come come, I will show you how it is like a swan.

Tadah!!!
*ngiak ngiak ngiak crows fly by. obviously the Bell Tower in this picture looks nowhere like a swan*

Yes la I know I'm lousy la this picture is taken from the wrong angle.
Okay okay, Let me show you a proper one.
Nah.Courtesy of Jim T on Panoramio

The brown *insert professional architectual term* resemble the wings of the swan while the green glass cylinder is its neck.

Wokay I'm done with Swan River for now - there are more beautiful pictures but I will have to save it for another post.

Let's go to the city~!

When I saw this building, I can't help but to exclaim that Wah it looks like the one from Bukit Tinggi!!
Nah the leng lou in green and white jacket standing beside the traffic light is my dad.

Nah the two pretty girls standing beside him are his daugthers.
I mean, a real Bukit Tinggi style building, not a mocked one.
Erm I don't mean to say that those at Bukit Tinggi are the mocked ones as it is just one of the design, like, if I'm using contemporary tropical theme for my house I can't possibly say that you are mocking me if you are using the same theme also right?
Well you get what I mean.

Nah nah nah try spotting the similarities between these two pictures and the one above.
3 same people in the picture? Yes congratulations you are right yay but there are more.
Nay notice that girl in knitted gray shirt and skirt?
She was striking the same pose in all the pictures.
Turn head and smile with legs opened widely.
Ceh might as well take one picture then photoshopped it into different backgrounds.

And wow would you just look at this!!Beautiful right??
Of course!
This is taken in Malaysia. Bukit Tinggi.

We toured around the city for one whole day and had home cooked dinner so basically there is nothing much to talk about.
Remember? This is a tourism post.

Let's proceed to day 2~

We made a visit to...
Curtin University.

Hahahahahhahahah who on earth would make a trip to a local university?
Imagine those angmohs touring our UM UPM UiTM etc.

Curtin is no doubt a very beautiful place la.
Seriously I've always wanted a study place with big fields nice environment etc like, you could study or get a sun bath on the field.
Okay by all means laugh at me. I know we stay in Malaysia.
Sun bath? hahahahhhahahahhaha.
Too bad la my college is just a pathetic 6-floored building.

Curtin is beyond the imagination of my ideal campus.
Tall trees!!!Okay la just say me ulu I've never expected to see trees that tall in a university!!!

T.T Chung Xiang Xi I am a bit envious of you leh.
Erm not only a bit... I am quite envious of you leh.
(wooi don't judge my dad if any of you are doing it now.
My dad is the best dad in the world.
It's not that I'm not given the opportunity to study abroad but... who's gonna send my grandma to grocery store if I'm gone to somewhere else too?)

Okay I'm done with the university now.

We were hungry by the time we done touring around Curtin u!!!
And we already had a fabulous plan in mind ngek ngek ngek.
We are gonna try out the so called best voted fish and chips in the town.

On the way...

We saw John Curtin.
CXX with the university founder.
Nah this is the lame pose I mean.
Tourists love mocking the statues don't they?
And they love responding to whatver the statues are doing too right? This is what I mean.

Dai Sai Lou asked me to look for the dive gears in here but then I was too lazy to do so.
I'm not a very enthusiastic diver and I don't think it's necessary to buy my own gear.Anyway Leng girl thought that she ought to be the spokeperson of this shop because she dressed like one and two spoilers unconsciously went into the picture and had my sis's dream destroyed.

Next!

A church.Yoohoo fellow Christians out there don't you wish you have a castle-like church?
Or you are actually grateful for whatever given by God?
Erm I'm not being sarcastic.
I'm asking because I'm not a Christian.
Buddhist like I would be grateful for what I have but of course I always seek for improvement.

Anyway my dad took this picture mainly because he wanted to use it as a reference for the design of our new house.
He thought that the usage of sand bricks matches his contemporary tropical theme.

Just kidding.
It is the most beautiful church I had ever seen before so I had to have a picture with it.
That's all. Not as reference whatsoever.

Then again, I would really love to use sand bricks for my house but my dad said that there are no nice sand bricks in Malaysia.
Okay.

Hahahahahaha look at this series of pictures!
So I as a tourist was posing in front of the post office (haha imagine angmoh posing in front of PosMalaysia)...
..when my brother was asking for the camera...Look at my lasting dainty smile!!! Man it's not affected by the surrounding circumstances at all!!
Sorry lah cannot help... True Shang Hui fashion.

Random street.Nothing much but it's quaint so I have to share with you.

Walking on the street nonchalantly.Ok this is a very important picture because as observed, Leng girl doesn't usually have the camera in hand.
Even when she has one in hand, it would be that she is taking a picture of herself, not of others.
Like this.And this.
And this and this.

And this... is not her.
Anyway you get the idea.

T.T I am cold and hungry can I have my lunch already???
Yes yes let's go to the harbour.
Few minutes driving distance only.
Har we still have to go to somewhere else for lunch can't we just have it somewhere near?

No unless you don't want to try the best voted fish n' chips.

=( wokay then.

There we are in front of the restaurant which serve the best voted fish n' chips.

Wow this pose is classical. Typical tourist's pose.Thumbs up! Kaili's cafe.

On that fine windy day, when everyone else was staying indoor, my family member insisted to sit outside because 'got feel'.
And it's definitely colder.

Then my siblings kept on commenting that those served at Fish & Co. taste better.
Well perhaps it suits Malaysians more. It's subjective anyway.

Whoa check it out a uber macho guy is leaning there with a can of lemonade in his hand.
Yes it would be more appropriate if it is a can of beer but let's just not be too picky.
Looking at the future with hope... Hmm....

Look no further. He could see his future through the camera lens already.

After lunch...

The Wesley Fremantle Church I've mentioned above remained the most beautiful church I had ever seen until I saw this...
The unknown church.

Come, I'll bring you to something good.

This is what the guard told us when we asked for permission to visit the church.

We went in and saw this. Then the guard asked us to turn around and we saw......
*cue Phantom of the Opera opening*

Wow.
Wow!!!!!!

Yes I've seen a pipe organ in Pirates of the Carribean but not a real one!!

Wait.
Wait wait.
I think I have seen one in the Petronas Philharmonic Hall.

Ahem.

But it's different! That was a hall.
This is installed in a church.
So it's still wow-able.

Then we went to some other universities.=.= acting cool at people's university. Wa okay boh?

And had home cooked dinner again =)

2 days for now.

I guess that you feel tired looking at so many pictures right?
Yoh I'm so considerate I will have to stop here.
Meanwhile, do catch a great niap for tonight's WC final match.
I mean, you and me.

And I realise one thing,
Asian can never be satisfied with sightseeing.
We die die must take pictures with those things which we think are nice.
When would Asian learn to appreaciate the beauty of something silently, without having in the back of mind the thought of taking pictures for the purpose of remembrance or in some worse case, for the purpose of showing off?
Erm erm erm I am guilty of that too (of remembrance!! not of showing off!)
So I can't really give you an answer.

Shall write again on some other days.

The Nth accident

I can consider myself as quite experienced when it comes to road accident.

I had an accident today.

Well, I could still be here typing, that would mean that I'm perfectly alright lah.

Eh it could be that i have dead and my soul is backed to type out some unfulfilled wish because I couldn't speak and even I could people could not hear me nor could they see me and my blog would be the perfect platform to voice out my last wishes.

What on earth is wrong with this girl who had just curse herself?

Gah.

Anyway.

I'm not dead.

My car didn't even get a single scratch.

So it happened this way.

I wanted to turn left.
The motorcyclist on my left wanted to go straight.
So when I turned left,
bang he hit onto my car.
He fell he injured I'm alright.

The end.

Yes many of you would want to ask,

'did you put on the signal light?'

Yes of course I did. I swear upon my own life.

The first thing the Indian Public bank manager asked me when he saw me getting out of the car was that,

'did you see properly or not???!!!!!'

Well, I'm not an easy person when it wasn't entirely my fault.

I returned,

'you were the one who did not see properly.
I did put on signal can't you see it?
it's not entirely my fault ok?'

I realised that I speak English in better fluency in the middle of angst.
*well you could see that the font used in my conversation is much smaller than that of his because mine was longer as seen and I didn't have such a big lung to shout everything out in one breath*

Then he hushed me, telling me that he was in pain.

*narrow-eyed*
He made me felt like I were a big-mouthed-woman.
Nay those kind of irrational bitch who went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

Of course I did not go on after that.

Knowing that my car was blocking others, I suggested to park my car at the roadside.
I even said,

'I won't run away.
I just don't want to block the traffic.'

Of course I wish to go away - not to avoid the responsibility.
10 minutes left before I started working - I couldn't afford to be late.
It is not fair for the student if I start the class late - although they may be very happy lar. I'm a student too so I can understand.

Right.

While I was in the car I thought,

'it could be my fault'

Well, he scratched his palm.
I could see that he was in severe pain.
His motorbike's windscreen was crashed.

It really seemed to be my fault.
Really, in that case, I have no idea whose fault is that.

I took out my IC - yes you know that I silently admitted the fault,
and asked him to copy it.
He did so with his trembling injured hand - not that I didn't wanna help him,
I have copied everything into his notebook and he seemed to be not too satisfied with it and he copied the exact thing again.
T.T and he written my name in red - pantang lah for Chinese T.T

I took out my phone number,
and asked him to give me a missed call.

I kept on saying 'I'm very sorry about it' jeeez where was the flame?
It seemed like it had been dampened by his blood.

Within 10 minutes, things were settled.
We even chattered up when he took down my personal details - that was when I got to know that he's a bank officer.

I was on time for work.

*************************************

Things could be easily settled - that is because I know that I could afford paying the compensation.
Don't get me wrong people, I am not that kind of super wealthy princess who thinks that money could solve any matter.
I just got my pay cheque so I know that the amount could somehow cover his loss.

Nevertheless, what if I am another poor girl who could barely cover her meals and daily expenses?
What if I see money more important than everything else?

I would have fought with him.
I would have insisted that it wasn't entirely my fault - I did put on the signal light.
I would have scolded him a blind man because he ignored my signal light.
I would have elaborated the importance of the signal light and teased him to have deserved the injury for ignoring it.
I would have said a lot of mean stuff.

I would have.

But I did not.

That is - only if I have the extra money to buy the harmony.
I feel grateful, because I really could buy the peaceful moment.
He is physically harm, it is cruel to cause any more harm on him emotionally.

Money certainly can't solve everything,
but there are somethings which can't be solved without money.

Thank you God.

Perth: General

Backed from Perth.

Like. Finally.

Don't get me wrong.
I sounded as though I had been suffering in Perth but that's not the truth.

I kinda like Perth.
The greens and the traffic flow.
Big field could be comfortably spotted anywhere.
Yes in Malaysia we could see lines of trees along the highway but that's the different thing la.

As for the traffic issue, unlike in Malaysia, pedestrians are prioritised.
Zebra crossing is fully utilised.
Even when zebra crossing is not in existence, the drivers would still give ways to the pedestrians.
Plus, no much of horrific honking horns and terrible traffic jams.
People are trained to be more patient I guess.
Or maybe the density of the area is not as high as that of KL.

And you know what??
the fine for not buckling safety belt is 500 dollars per head!!!
Per head tau???
Erm.... *guilty conscience* it's for our own benefit anyway.....

K more good things in Perth.

FOOD.

You must understand it's Chung Shang Hui who's writing here,
she is someone which could be easily bribed by good food.
(=.= sounds like Chung Shang Hui is some food loving pet)

Even their cheapo fast food like the pre-packed rice are oolalaly tasty.
Oh and their BBQ sets which are nicely facilitised in the park, is truly awesome!!!! (say me ulu but I really have not seen something like that before!)
Okay anyway this post is not solely about food,
so I shall leave it to another post.

Right right right, back to the track please.

How ya??
A lot of Malaysians are dying to migrate to Australia,
but I still prefer Malaysia over Perth.
See, I am destined to be patriotic la as I am born on the Malaysia's National Day instead of Perth's.
Or maybe I am just not used to it - I've been rooted in Malaysia for decades and perhaps I am afraid of stepping out of the comfort zone
Or perhaps I haven't seen Perth enough yet - I have only been there for one week anyway.

Come, let me tell you why I would choose Malaysia over Perth (eler as if I am given a choice).

1) Weather
I think the air-condition in my room is the least used appliances at home.
I never turn it on for two reasons:
I) the bimboness in me reminds me that it would make my skin dry.
II) I genuinely think that the coolness produced by the ceiling fan is more than sufficient.

So you see, I am someone who likes it warm.
My head almost exploded during my visit to Korea in one of its winter.
The whole journey was about taking pills, sleeping in the heated bus and vomiting.

Thankfully it is not that cold in Perth.
Otherwise history would have to repeat again.
It's only 0 degree celcius for the minimum.
Yes la I know the word 'only' makes me sound like I am showing off I am not afraid of coldness dadada but it is really much better if compared to Korea eh.
At least it is not snowing.

So you see arr, I dislike it being cold,
so in Perth whenever I have the chance, I opt for the sun.
I have set the UV ray issues aside for the time being and you know how harmful is UV to our skin???
Aisay at that time I really couldn't care much la.
When I am in Malaysia, I try to stay under the shade as much as I could and so the harm of the UV ray to the skin would have been reduced.

Secondly, I will bring up my most frequently mentioned issue.
I shall proudly say that I have put on 3kgs in 1 week time.

3kgs.

Who else can be as efficient as I am???
No one ma.

K let me tell you why.

So you see yea I believe in the myth that I could keep myself warm by eating more (plus the foods are really good so I erm... can't resist the temptation!).
So whenever I feel cold, I munch on something.
Well, it's winter, of course I would feel cold most of the time,
so...
I bring a pack of chips around me so that I could keep myself warm.
Apparently it doesn't work la - Despite the amount of chips I had taken I was still freezing.

So!!!
Myth busted!!!
It was the layers of clothes which keep me warm, nothing to do with the food at all.

Ah! Speaking of this...

You see, when it's cold, you have to wrap yourselves with layers of clothes, right?
Then, when you wrap yourselves with layers of clothes, you would automatically look not so slim, right?

Nah!

That's the problem.

I thought I look sensibly fat because of the clothes,
well, I look fat - but it doesn't mean that I am fat.
(please carefully analyse this statement carefully)

Nah nah nah, due to this dangerous thought,
I kinda lose control on my diet because I think that I ought to look fat in those thickies,
not realising that I look fat because I am really fat.

Erm... do you get what I mean???

Nevermind if you don't get it - I still have the 3rd point.

I did not shed a single sweat during my one week stay in Perth - despite that I was jogging under the 12pm sun.

How can this be?

Yes yes of course it can be because it happened.

I could literally feel that my metabolism rate was terrible there in Perth.

Conclusion, I put on weight, because it was cold!

That's why I love Malaysia, although I'm still fat in Malaysia la.

There is this song by the local band which goes like, '让我用马来西亚的天气来说爱你~'
*direct translation: let me use Malaysia's weather to say that I love you*
Awww can you feel the warmth in there?
Crazy love for Malaysia's weather =DDDDD

*let me tell one the good thing about staying in somewhere cold.
we girls don't have to worry about body hair exposure anymore.
At least for me, I wouldn't wear a sleeveless shirt or a skirt without tights when it was few degree celcius.
it's cool to not have to remove hairs for a week =)
Guys, please be grateful that you are carrying the XX gonosomes*

2)Working hours
Good for you if you are one of the happy employees in Perth.
Apparently I am not.

All shops closed at 5pm.
Plus, some of the shops are proud to say that they open 7 days a week.

How to tahan la like that??
Yes Thursday is amazing because they are so kindly open the shop until 9pm but it's only one day out of the whole week!!

This is perhaps the biggest culture shock I've experienced in Perth.

Oh, speaking of so, I wanna talk about my weight issues again.

So instead of hanging around like what I'm usually doing in KL,
we stay home to watch Hong Kong soup dramas.
When we were watching, we munched on something - because we believed that it kept us warm.
Lying on the bed while munching on chips (which are REALLY good) does not burn as much calories as walking in the mall - that's pretty obvious man.

So YES, that's why I'm fat now!!!!

Sigh I used to proudly say that I am not fat, I am just not that skinny but now I guess I have to take this statement back for the time being la =(((

Okay I think I'm done with this zabalang post.

I shall write more tomorrow~
